Dallas Area Residential Sales Report for May – Wylie TX
The COVID-19 virus had a major impact on properties contracted for in March and April and those effects are now showing up the the May home sales numbers which in Wylie was down by 24%. The good news is that we had the shortest recession in history and buyers were back in the market towards the end of May and were snapping up homes. Pending sales rose 13%. The average sales price came in flat while the median sales price rose 4%. The bad news if you are a buyer is that the number of new listings declined 23% and with the increase in pending sales , the months of inventory has fallen to 1.5 months. Sales will be effected in the future as buyers have a hard time finding that dream home.
