Interstate 635 (I-635), also known as the Lyndon B. Johnson Freeway (or simply “the LBJ”), is often considered the northern boundary of what is traditionally called “North Dallas.”

However, many people today still consider the areas north of I-635, within the city limits of Dallas, to be part of the broader North Dallas region. These areas are characterized by the same affluence, strong economy, and suburban feel that define North Dallas proper. The Dallas North Tollway, which runs north-south through the area, has been a major driver of this continued growth, connecting communities far to the north with downtown Dallas.
